The Calm Before the Season

There’s a very specific feeling that lives in the final days before golf season begins.

It’s quiet… but not.

It’s the hum of wrapping up indoor lessons. The last few swings on simulators. Final conversations about feels, tendencies, and “what to expect when we get outside.” It’s tying up loose ends while knowing full well that in just a few days, everything shifts.

This is the calm before the season.

Behind the scenes, it doesn’t just look like golf.

It looks like squeezing in final doctor’s appointments. Getting life organized. Prepping my family with the gentle reminder that mommy is ON for the next few months. The schedule fills, the days get longer, and the energy required ramps up in the best (and most demanding) way.

And yet… there’s a deep sense of pride in all of it.

I’ve built a life where I get to choose my hours. Where I can prioritize my health. Where I can be present with my family. That doesn’t happen by accident - it comes from boundaries, from intention, and from learning (sometimes the hard way) when to say no.

And I know… the “no” isn’t always easy to hear.

Especially when it comes to weekend lessons, squeezing in “just one more” in the dark, or giving up my own day to golf to play “catch up”.

But here’s the truth: if I don’t protect time to play my own game - just once a week - I lose a piece of what makes me a great coach in the first place.

That time isn’t negotiable anymore. It’s necessary. It keeps me grounded, inspired, and connected to the same game I ask all of you to fall in love with.

Because this job, this life - is a privilege. And I am 100% aware of this.

Every single day, I get to stand beside you in your frustrations, your breakthroughs, your “aha” moments, your tears (more times than you could guess!) and your goals. I get to help you navigate a game that is equal parts beautiful and maddening. And I don’t take that lightly.

This season, I’m stepping into that role even more intentionally.

I’m preparing to cheer you on - loudly. To support your goals. To help you grow.

But I’m also not forgetting my own. Because like you, I am worth it.

Another year of Women in Coaching with the PGA of Canada and Golf Canada is about to begin, and I’m committed, as always, to being 1% better every single day. Not perfect. Just better. Consistent growth, stacked over time. There is no quick fixes in golf, and certainly no quick fixes in growth - in life.

Off the course, I’m leaning into taking care of myself in ways that actually feel good. Prepping meals. Creating routines that support long days. And yes… leaning a little more into the “woo woo” with my girl Leah - muscle testing food, activity, and continuing to learn how to trust my body and its instincts. There’s power in that connection, and I’m all in on exploring it. It must be a red hear super power - or at least that is what I am going with!

On the business side, I’m leaning all the way into my brand.

No filters. No trying to be anything other than exactly who I am.

I’m focused on growing, finding new opportunities, building partnerships, and showing up online in a way that actually teaches you something real. Not just content for the sake of content - but things that help you play better, think clearer, and enjoy the game more.

And behind the scenes?

I’m working on BIG things.

Things that will allow me to help those of you who aren’t local. Things that expand this community beyond where I physically stand. It’s been on my heart for a while, and this feels like the season it starts to come to life.

When I step back and look at all of it, it feels like a lot.

In one breath… overwhelming.

In the next… it’s everything I’ve been working toward.

Everything I want.

And exactly the right moment for it all.

This will be a summer of love, laughter, family, and sport.

And for the first time in a while - I feel completely at peace with it all.

Ready for the pace. Ready for the people. Ready for the energy that comes with it all. And ready to level up.

This post may have been a little more for me than you, but if you made it this far, thank you for being here.

Signing off from the indoors.

I’ll see you outside.
