It started with curiosity,

I never could have imagined where this journey would take our family.

What started as a somewhat selfish idea of mine has turned into one of the most unforgettable experiences of our lives.

As a golf coach, I was curious about the Drive, Chip, and Putt experience. I wanted to see how the events were organized, how the competition was run, and what made this program so special. My intention was simple: learn something new, bring those ideas back to New Brunswick, and hopefully use them to help grow junior golf here at home.

I never imagined we would advance.

I never imagined the amount of travel, the memories, the incredible experiences, or that one day we would be heading to Augusta National.

And yet, here we are.

It Was Never Just About Golf

Watching both of our boys take part in this journey has been something special.

As a mom, I’ve watched them grow, learn, compete, celebrate, and experience the highs and lows that come with this game. I’ve watched them develop their skills, but more importantly, I’ve watched them build confidence, resilience, and a belief in themselves.

Golf has given our family so much more than a scorecard.

It has given us opportunities to travel together, meet incredible people, experience new places, and create memories that will stay with us forever.

And through it all, I’ve had my husband by my side.

Jason, thank you for always going along with my crazy ideas. For the early mornings, the long drives, the travel, the sacrifices, and for supporting our boys and me through every step of this journey.

I know my ideas don't always come with a simple plan, but I am so grateful that we get to experience these moments together.

"Mom, Someone Has to Win. Why Not Me?"

I will never forget what my youngest said to me the day before his Drive, Chip, and Putt Regional Final in New York.

"Mom, someone has to win, why not me?"

He's EIGHT. 🥹

As a mom, my heart stopped.

As a golf coach, I thought… imagine if we all approached this game that way?

Instead of asking, "What if I fail?" What if we asked, "Why not me?"

What if we stopped being so afraid of making mistakes that we forgot to believe in what's possible?

Confidence isn't knowing you'll win. It's believing you belong in the arena, trusting yourself enough to try, and being brave enough to dream BIG without worrying about what happens if you fall short.

Joey didn't know what the next day would bring, but he BELIEVED it was possible.

And one week later, he's still trying to come to grips with the fact that he's heading to Augusta National. 😭

The result is obviously a dream come true. But that mindset? That's the real lesson for us all.

A Journey We Never Expected

To both of our boys: I am so incredibly proud of you.

Not just for how far you've advanced, but for the way you've embraced this journey. For the effort you've put in, the lessons you've learned, and the way you've continued to grow both on and off the golf course.

To Jason: thank you for being the steady presence behind all of this. For believing in our boys, supporting my passion for golf, and making these experiences possible for our family.

And to Drive, Chip & Putt: thank you for creating an opportunity that has brought so much joy, inspiration, and meaning to our family.

What started as a coach wanting to learn something new to bring back to New Brunswick Golf has become a family adventure we could never have planned.

I'm grateful for every part of it.

The golf. The travel. The lessons. The memories. The people.

And most of all, I'm grateful that we get to keep sharing this journey together.

Team, the next time you stand over a shot, step into a big moment, or question whether you're good enough, remember an eight-year-old who dared to believe greatly.

Someone has to win.

WHY NOT YOU? 👊
